Installing Ignite on Windows - Confio Article 1513

Run the Ignite installer.  It should handle everything required.  If it doesn't work, check that you have administrator rights on the box.


Refer to KB article 1570 if you are installing Ignite on Windows Vista, 2008 or 7.

 

 

Artifacts:
  • Ignite files (default installation dir = c:\program files\confio\Ignite PI)
  • VBScript files to perform specialized functions
    • Called from Installshield
    • You can also run them from the command line as needed for support
      • IgnitePI_CleanWebFiles.vbs
      • IgnitePI_RemoveService.vbs
      • IgnitePI_CreateService.vbs
  • Registry Entry:
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Confio \ Ignite\ InstallDir
    • Value = installation dir
    • Read by VBScript so it knows where Ignite is installed
  • JRE 1.6 is delivered with the software
  • Tomcat
    • Running as a Windows service called “Ignite PI Server”
    • Default port = 8123
  • Windows Start Menu entries
