How to Get Permanent Keys for AlarmVM

After you have purchased an AlarmVM license, you'll need to request a permanent key to replace the trial key originally used.  No new software is required, just a key replacement.  The key will depend on the number of AlarmVM sockets that were purchased.  

The process is simple, just do the following:

1. Click the Options menu item on the AlarmVM home screen

2. From the Options menu, click License Administration

3.   The screen will show the list of registered vCenter servers and host sockets associated with each.   Make sure that you have already registered each vCenter server on which you'll be setting alarms.   Then click Request Permanent Key.

4.    The screen shows all the eligible vCenter servers and Hosts for which you can request a key.  Choose the servers you are requesting and click the "slider" under Request Key to move it over to show YES.   Fill in your name and company, and the Confio sales contact (if you know the name).   Then click Generate Request.   

5.  The result is a Email message, To: LIcense@confio.com, with an encrypted string of key information.   Just send that message, and Confio license support will create the keys and reply back to the same email with the full permanent keys.  

6.  When you receive your key(s) back via Email, just copy to the License Administration screen, click Add LIcense, and it is complete.
