Ignite PI can be installed on Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, or Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit). However, if User Account Control (UAC) is turned on, you will need to right-click on the Ignite installation executable and choose 'Run as Administrator'.
To check to see if UAC is enabled, bring up the Control Panel from the Start Menu.
- Select Classic View
- Select User Accounts
- There is an option to Turn User Account Control on or off. Selecting that option will show you whether or not it is enabled.
If User Account Control (UAC) is turned on, follow the installation instructions below:
- Right-click on IgnitePI_version.exe (example: IgnitePI_Trial_7_0_31.exe), and choose 'Run as administrator' so the Ignite PI service can be installed.
- If you've already installed Ignite and can't access Ignite from the Browser, follow the steps below:
- Go to Ignite PI in the All Programs menu, right-click on 'Uninstall Ignite PI' and choose the 'Run as administrator' option.
- Follow the prompts to uninstall Ignite. NOTE: It may error because it cannot find the service to uninstall, you can safely ignore this error.
- Once the uninstall is complete, Run the Installation again by right-clicking on IgnitePI_version.exe (example: IgnitePI_Trial_7_0_31.exe) and choosing 'Run as administrator' so the wizard can install the Ignite PI service
